Product Details

Just the Goods' always strives to offer the best possible formulas, and this means an ongoing commitment to research, development, and testing. As such, I'm thrilled to offer a vegan lip balm formula that is creamier, more moisturizing, and longer lasting both on lips *and* in storage thanks to the perfect ratio of creamy cocoa butter blended moisture-rich sea buckthorn oil among other nourishing vegetable-based oils.

These handcrafted products are made without artificial preservatives. To protect their integrity and promote longevity, please store in a cool dark place and seal tightly between uses as heat and sunlight will cause premature deterioration.

Tips

Layer this lip balm extra thick before bed for use as an overnight lip mask and wake up to soft, hydrated lips

And... did you know chronic dry/chapped/peeling lips can be a sign of vitamin and mineral deficiency? Vitamin A, B3, B12 and zinc consumed through food rich in these elements, and/or vegan nutritional supplements, can bring relief from the inside out.

Lip scrub versus lip balm

Lip scrub is an exfoliating product designed to help release dead skin cells clinging to your lips. The biggest reason why someone might want to do this is because dead cells are not capable of absorbing moisturizer/lip balm etc., and passing that moisture down into deeper layers of skin. In fact, dead cells cause quite the opposite effect: moisturizing products applied to them act kind of like glue, sticking them down to the surface, blocking moisturizers for getting where they needs to go. As such, gently exfoliating on a regular basis helps to reveal newer layers of skin more capable of absorbing moisture, thereby making your moisturizing efforts more effective.
.
Another reason people like to exfoliate their lips is because darker shades of lipstick/stain need a smooth, even surface in order to deliver a consistent layer of pigment. So if you're tired of applying lipstick only to rub it off with a tissue then try again... try exfoliating first, then applying lip balm (or primer), and then your vibrant hues!
.
Lip balm is used to moisturize lips. The type I've created contains a combination of plant based oils and waxes to delivery a diverse range of nutrients, which might be particularly helpful to those who have diets that require careful monitoring of iron, zinc, and B vitamins.
So, you can use lip balm without lip scrub if you want, but I don't recommend using lip scrub without lip balm. JTG's version contains both an emoilient and a humectant in addition to the sugar, but not enough of either to last nearly as long as the lip balm formulations

Detals about JTG's lip balm flavours

Just the Goods’ lip balm base is made from a diverse assortment of carrier oils including olive oil, cocoa butter, sea buckthorn oil, and castor oil, among others. From a functional perspective, they combine very well to offer rich and long lasting moisture. However, without additional flavouring provided by natural essential oils, the combination of carrier oils doesn't taste particularly yummy. It is for this reason that Just the Goods does not currently offer an unflavoured option.

Further on the subject of available flavours: Although there have been requests for options such as pomegranate, coconut and cherry, please note that such flavours -- even ones that are derived from natural sources -- still contain ingredients like propylene glycol, which are never included in Just the Goods products.
